Objectives:

Conference Interpreting Skills training is tailor-made to:

  1. Build up interpreting-related skills, including public speaking, mental alertness/split attention, note-taking and listening skills;
  2. Give the participants a space to practice sight translation, consecutive and simultaneous interpreting;
  3. Familiarize the participants with the interpreting equipment;
  4. Provide guidance on interpreting ethics and conduct; and
  5. Equip the participants with the tools needed to expand their knowledge.

o   Participants take away is a reading plan and a practice action plan to develop their skills further within the following 1-3 months upon their commitment to the plan.
